Landslide Help for Almora, India
When a landslide hit Almora in October 2021, several houses were badly damaged and tragically, one young girl lost her life. Three families were taken in by the church due to work that was needed on their houses. The images below show the extent of the damage, and the need for retaining walls to protect the houses.

The Bridge Trust has a strong relationship with the church community in Almora. A sudden event like this has a big impact on a small community where there is little government support available. Naturally, we wanted to help our friends at this time of need. We were able to send them some money for the costs of rebuilding the houses that sustained the most significant damage.
We are thrilled to report that the rebuilding work is now complete. It’s not difficult to see the effect this has had on the families involved!

Partnership
Relationships are one of the core values of The Bridge Trust. We are so privileged to have built relationships over many years with our partners in India. It’s a joy to be able to help them in their vision to reach the most vulnerable. Most of the time our support is focused on long-term projects like the health workers in the slums in Delhi, or employment training in Zambia. Occasionally we also make one-off donations like this one to meet a specific need.
We’re also so grateful for the relationships we have with those who support us. Every prayer, donation and encouragement makes a difference, so thank you! Our appeals for financial support often relate to a specific project, but we are thankful for any donation as it helps us to respond to situations like these.
