Feeding the hungry in Delhi
The Covid-19 pandemic has meant that many of us are staying at home, and workplaces, schools and businesses are closed. In Delhi, many people living in the slums depend on being paid by the day for labouring and similar work. The lockdown means that many of them are unable to work, have no money to buy food and are starving.

Our friends in Delhi have been providing food, and so far have been able to feed over 14,000 people. The police have given them permission to carry out this work and have even helped with the organisation.
In the slums in West Delhi, there are facilities to cook meals to distribute. In the East of the city, the same facilities are not available, so they have been buying bulk ingredients to distribute in bags for people to cook at home.

We plan to send a contribution to the costs of this when we next send out funds, in May. If you’d like to help us, please click the Donate link at the top of the page to go to our How to Give page.
