An evening with Milton Jones 17 November
We were delighted to have Milton Jones performing for us on 17 November 2018 to help us raise funds for our work in India. He was supported by the Bean Baker Band. Milton is a regular guest panellist on BBC TV’s Mock the Week.
All proceeds went towards the work that The Bridge Trust Ltd supports in the slums of Delhi, which includes slum school and health work.
About 4 million people live in slums in Delhi. The Bridge Trust Ltd supports 30 health workers in one of the pockets of slums. They provide simple treatments, advice and education free of charge to about 40,000 families that they visit regularly.
A team from The Bridge Trust Ltd visited Delhi in October 2018. Penny Waller delivered some top-up training to the health workers on diabetes, mosquito related diseases and several other key areas. Penny recently retired as a nurse trainer in the Bristol area.
Thanks to Milton for his generosity in agreeing to perform for us. We raised over £7,400. That has made a huge difference to our ability to support this work. It has enabled us to commit to increasing what we send for each health worker from £25 a month to £35.
If you would like to support one of the health workers regularly, please contact us. A gift of £28 a month plus gift aid would cover the £35 we send.
